My wife and I were wondering what the damage was going to be in terms of how much her coverage would go up. She has a Kaiser Gold plan with low copays and shared caps. She pays $350 a month with a taxable income of around $60k.
She already got an email (Friday) from Covered California explaining the status of who will be impacted and where she fits in.
This is going to be catastrophic for the GOP.
Covered California messaged everyone to say that this impacts subsidies to the lower income people who have the lowest priced coverage because of a special subsidy that applies to that tier only, the Gold plans won’t be affected. Silver plans will go up because they are heavily subsidized as well although not as much because of the income group that has them. California intends to do everything they can to keep these lowest income plans as affordable as possible, but say they will be going up.
Wow, my perception is that they intend to send a message where it hurts the most, that this will impact and be felt by the people who can’t afford it.
Message to the GOP, hide, run away, you are about to be buried in shit.
Hopefully this is responded to by saying enough, we need to get rid of this Moron now.
Trump did everything the GOP had enough sense to try to avoid with their version of “healthcare”. No deferment of this hitting after the 2018 elections, no worst things hitting after 2020, no allowing smaller actions designed to hurt the ACA brought in in such a way that the rhetorical spin that Obamacare was already failing. This is being sabotaged and blown up by executive order. Insurance companies already laying the increases right in Trump’s lap, bet he never thought they would be so mean and vindictive.
I was already telling Jeanne not to worry about it, we can afford increases so it isn’t us that gets hurt, but it is millions of people who supported Trump who in effect deserve this, it’s unfortunate those that didn’t vote for him as they did not have this coming. Then to find out this isn’t going to affect our income group at all, damn. This is hopefully going to do more to get the GOP off of their Moron enabling butts than anything else could.
Now Dems need to stay out of being suckered into making bad compromises because they want to try to do something that helps even if it is worse than what we had. Let the GOP own this, they need no hope that any of it can be pinned on Dems.
It happened, he did it, nothing we can do, so enjoy the stupidity of the worst move the Moron has made to date. I’m curious what it is going to take for republicans to remove this idiot from office. How much damage are they going to allow? This should be it.
