It has been too long since I posted or shared an essay or comment here at the Daily Kos. After spending a short tenure as one of the front page writers here I moved over to Salon where, for the most part, I write exclusively. I have a podcast which has become a type of informal Trump University—except that folks are not scammed out of their money and there are actual experts who want to do some truth-telling about this horrible political moment and American (and global) politics.
One of the recent guests on The Chauncey DeVega Show was Dr. Lance Dodes. He is a contributor to the very important new book “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President."
He is assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School (retired) and a psychoanalyst (Training and Supervising Analyst Emeritus at the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute).
Dr. Dodes is a signatory to a nationally discussed letter which was published in The New York Times which warned the public about the dangers posed by Donald Trump's mental health.
During this episode of The Chauncey DeVega Show, Dr. Dodes and I discuss how clinicians have a "duty to warn" the American people (and the world) about Donald Trump's mental health problems. Dr. Dodes also clarifies the common misunderstandings surrounding the so-called "Goldwater Rule". And Dr. Dodes shares his thoughts about how he believes that Donald Trump is a sociopath and a megalomaniac not unlike other tyrants which we have seen throughout human history.
This episode with Dr. Lance Dodes can be downloaded from Libysn and also listened to here.
The Chauncey DeVega Show is available on Itunes, Spotify and at Stitcher.
