As I predicted on March 14, 2017 in “Trump’s Secret Plan to Win the War Against ISIS (ISIL) Revealed!!!”, Trump is claiming credit for the recent collapse of the terrorist group’s Caliphate.
So what is Trump’s plan? It is obvious. When Mosul falls he will claim the credit. When Raqqa is liberated, it will be because of him.
When Mosul was liberated he took a big bite of credit, but now that Raqqa is free, he’s gone whole hog. While the White House statement on the liberation of Mosul was full of lies, for example claiming more progress in the “past six months than in the years since ISIS became a major threat,” it is fair and balanced compared to the Trumpian pronouncements on the recapture of Raqqa.
It is a typically nauseating performance by Trump--divorced from reality, insecure, complete nonsense. To quote him: “I totally changed rules of engagement. I totally changed our military. I totally changed the attitudes of the military and they have done a fantastic job. Yeah, ISIS is now giving up. They’re giving up, they’re raising their hands, they’re walking off. Nobody’s ever seen that before.”
The reporter asks “Why did that happen?” Switiching to third person to praise himself (once again), Trump replied: “Because you didn’t have Trump as your president. I mean, it was a big difference. I mean, there’s a big, big difference if you look at the military now.”
But one thing to bear in mind, as the first part of my prediction has come true, there is another:
And when ISIL completes their pivot (a real pivot, unlike Trump’s continual feints toward sanity) to emphasize attacks on the U.S. by neo-ISIL believers (indirectly recruited for the most part) and stages some significant attacks on the 50 states? Trump will blame Obama, of course.
