Donald Trump holds a press conference to address the mass shooting in that occurred Sunday night in Las Vegas, Nevada in which more than 50 have been killed, more than 400 hospitalized.
Trump, somber—“an act of pure evil.”
Thanks LV police and first responders. “The speed with which they reacted is miraculous.” Saved lives, “shows what true professionalism is all about.”
“To the families of the victims, we are praying for you and we are here for you and we ask God to help you through this.” A more God-oriented than his usual. He’s going to LV on Wednesday. Ordering the “great” flag of the U.S. to fly at half-staff.
Talks about “unity” bonds of compassion, (setting himself up for the next attack on Mayor of San Juan or NFL players).
Thoughts and prayers for “unity and peace,” praying for the day when the innocent are “safe from hatred and fear.” More about God.
A subdued response, which would be completely appropriate from any president who hadn’t actively fomented hatred and fear.
The main policy response to mass shootings is to lower the flag to half-staff.— Ryan Lizza (@RyanLizza) October 2, 2017
The main policy response to mass shootings is to lower the flag to half-staff.
The ONLY policy response.
