I inadvertently flipped on Fox News Sunday where Chris Wallace was interviewing Trey Gowdy.
His answers were telling. Really hard to reconcile his answers today versus his ludicrous work in the Benghazi hearing.
Starting at 4:15:
Here is a “transcript”, i get the gist of what they are saying, but not verbatim. I found the point in bold something that was not covered widely elsewhere.
Wallace: There have been growing calls from Republicans to end the investigation because Mueller is too close and to not reauthorize his budget request when his report is delivered to Congress next month. Do you support cutting off funding?
Gowdy: No I don’t, and i am one of a increasingly small number of Republicans who think that. I think Bob Mueller has had a distinguished career and that your viewers can’t find anything inappropriate that he has ever done that would cause a lack of confidence in him.
I would encourage my Republican friends to give the guy a chance.
The result will be known by the facts. (Rant:Funny coming from you, Mr. Benghazi)
Then the old Mr. Gowdy shows up and says that the FBI should not have relied on the dossier and that the fact that Marc Elias paid for its creation was a fact that House Intelligence Committee members did not want to find out.
I wonder if Mueller is speeding up his investigation to prevent it ending without indictments being filed because his funding is drying up.
Manafort isn’t scared of Mueller. Mueller can just prosecute him. Manafort’s other clients that he was in bed with probably scare him much more, because they can harm innocent bystanders to get to him to be quiet.
