The morning after the American terrorist massacre in Las Vegas that left 59 dead and over 500 injured was devastating for most anyone who heard/saw it on the news. Several television talk show hosts became emotional on their shows and Ellen DeGeneres was no exception.
But the American comedian, actress, writer and philanthropist took a different direction after sharing her feelings about the shooting. Rather than move on and/or devote much of the show to the senseless tragedy, Ellen gave her studio audience and millions of viewers around world a dose of what goodness and everyday heroes look like. It’s the unselfish love for others that lives in most people that far exceeds the selfish, self-serving and dangerous human beings we seem to see so often today.
Ellen’s positive outlook during the show became infectious, and though it can’t—and shouldn’t—block out what happened in Las Vegas, it was a reminder of the honest good that still exists.
Here is Ellen show taped the morning after the Las Vegas slaughter.
Thank you, Ellen, for continuing to bring light to what so often, these days, feels like a dark, dark world. You remind us to never forget the good.
