House Republicans just passed their bill to cut taxes for the wealthy, add $1.456 trillion in debt by 2027, and trigger automatic annual cuts to Medicare of $25 billion. The bill passed by a vote of 227 to 205, with great cheering and clapping. Because they are monsters.
Oh, and it would also increases taxes over the next decade for many middle-class American families.
The nonpartisan Tax Policy Center’s data indicates that the House bill would raise taxes on a quarter of all households by 2027. Even next year, the bill would raise taxes on 3 million households with incomes between $48,600 and $86,100, with the average increase being more than $1,000.
Across the bottom four income quintiles, roughly 36 million households would see a tax increase by 2027.
