Whiff of Desperation in Henrico (VA): Is that Eau de Putin I Smell?

OK, it's on a small and very amateur scale compared to what the big boys have been up to, I'll admit,  but the Republican Party of Virginia really hit a low with this Putinesque antic.

So, yeah for Our Team!  We must be closing in or they wouldn't risk this stupid stuff!  And one does have to notice that they chose to appropriate the name and images of elderly black women aiming their message, just as the Russkis did last year, to a certain demographic. 

But this is the ham-fisted, amateur-hour version of that tactic and got exposed in a quick minute! 

Republican stealth tactics

Courtney Lynch's race is super important for Virginia Democrats  - and clearly for  Republicans.  If Courtney wins, Democrats get a majority on the Henrico Board of Supervisors and that will make a world of difference to Henrico's children (the Board controls the school budget and eastern Henrico always gets short-shrifted) and the rest of us, too.

 

The Republican Party of Virginia put out the mailer, not Courtney’s opponent, but hey, if he can’t control his own campaign message, can he really be competent to help manage a $1 BILLION budget?

Local races like this one often get left out of the mix.  But helping us get out the vote and win Courtney's bluish-purple district on November 7 will help us win the statewides and a couple of delegate seats, too, and the connection with voters will also help next year when we take on Dave Brat!
