Special election edition, tweet heavy, because it captures the moment.
Good morning! The good guy won. Atticus Finch won his election. President Bannon loses (I guess he should have gone to the University of Alabama, after all). The pedophile loses (ok he’s a hebephile, but whatever. And besides he’s hebrewphobic). America wins. And bless the white Republicans who stayed home.
Doug Jones ran a great race. Do not lose sight of that. And for all you Deaniacs still out there, thank Joe Trippi.
Pro tip: Don’t hesitate to run a pro-choice candidate when you’re running against a child molester, even in Alabama.
Thank the women, especially black women (97% Jones). Black men came through, too at 93%. And I suppose not enough Jewish lawyers voted for Roy Moore (WaPo):
One of our attorneys is a Jew’: Kayla Moore’s proof that Roy Moore is no anti-Semite
And can we now admit that Roy Moore ran a dreadful campaign? Avoided the issues. Disappeared from the trail. Agreed to an interview by a 12 y.o. girl. Bannon as an advisor is awful (Vanity Fair) and the long knives will be out:
BANNON, A BROTHEL, AND A “JEW” LAWYER: ROY MOORE’S FINAL DISASTROUS RALLY READS LIKE A BAD JOKE
Most amazing tweet was from Josh Holmes, Mitch McConnell’s ex-CoS, at 8:30pm before we knew the results:
This one made me cry.
Here’s another thing, which I have said for this entire cycle: do not underestimate the parental ick factor of child molestation:
Evan Siegfried/Daily News:
How Roy Moore, Steve Bannon gift-wrapped Alabama Senate seat for Doug Jones
The most striking part of the results from Alabama, as well as the Virginia and New Jersey elections a month ago, is the women's vote. Women are abandoning the Republican Party. They are voting for Democrats in huge numbers. While Republicans have long had a gender gap, for the first time we are seeing married women reject the GOP. Just look at mothers, who broke for Doug Jones, as they presumably did not trust Roy Moore to even look at their daughters.

Dumbest tweet of the night was Ari Fleischer:
Next best tweet was from John Kerry:

Daily News:
Wife of ex-New York Rangers star claims President Trump turned ‘aggressive’ on her inside elevator
Stacia Robitaille said she bumped into Trump at the iconic Manhattan arena while her husband was playing for the Rangers in the mid-1990s.
"He was aggressive & told me I was coming home with him," Robitaille tweeted on Monday. "I laughed, stating I was married to a Ranger. He guaranteed me my husband didn't make as much money as him. #ThisIsOurPresident."
The White House did not immediately return a request for comment from the Daily News.
USA Today:
A president who would all but call Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand a whore is not fit to clean the toilets in the Barack Obama Presidential Library or to shine the shoes of George W. Bush.
But tell us how you really feel. And, oh, there’s more.
R’s had done very well at state and national level. In 2017 voters, as it turns out, are repudiating them.
His Jewish lawyer.
