Those Seven Words: A Poem

The vulnerable in this nation (the transgender, for example)
Realize that they are the target of an ongoing attack
Under this administration that is stripping
Many science-based departments of their freedom of speech,
Preparing us all for the dictatorship it wants.
Mueller is fighting for all of us to survive,
Unearthing emails and Russian connections, and
Supervising a team that will not quit
This important, evidence-based investigation.
Be the change you want to see in this world.
Educate. Resist. Insist. Persist.
I do not know how else to exhort you;
My words may fall on deaf ears.
Please hear me. Hear me, I beg:
Entitlements are investments,
And a fetus is not a baby.
Christ would not support this administration;
He would pursue every last one of them through their marketplaces
Exacting his judgment with a whip across their backs.
Diversity is what this nation was built upon, and
Never have we been in such a perilous place, but
Out of this chaos, we have two possible outcomes:
Wreckage, or renewal.
