We moved away from Pensacola more than a year ago because it was too close to Alabama. Seventy percent of the Panhandle (know as UCLA-the Upper Corner of Lower Alabama) voted for Benedict Donald. Most of those 70% are still fighting the Civil War.
So, I was quite shocked to read the lede sentence in an online story by WEAR-TV that said…
PENSACOLA, Fla. (WEAR) — President Donald Trump told hundreds gathered at the Pensacola Bay Center - and more than 33,000 people on Channel 3's Facebook Live broadcast - to "go out and vote for Roy Moore" one hour into his Make America Great Again-style visit to Northwest Florida.
That’s hundreds with an “H”. The Pensacola Bay Center holds 12,000 people, people. And, BTW, WEAR-TV is a Sinclair Broadcasting station, which is owned by Russia (not really, but close).
Anyway, if Hair Furher can’t fill a venue in the Buckle of the Bible Belt, he is in deep Trump.
UPDATE: Here are some facts. This story has nothing to do with Weigle’s twitter thing. My photo is clearly labeled “fake”. WEAR-TV said “hundreds”, not me. The gist of my story is that a Sinclair Broadcasting channel published this. You may be aware that extreme rightwing Sinclair will take major control of the airwaves if the FCC rules in their favor. My conclusion that “IF” tRump could not fill an auditorium in the Deepest South, he would have a problem, which is true regardless of how many people were in P’cola.
Additionally, my daughter’s graduation was held in the Pensacola Bay Center, and ¾ of the building was packed to the rafters. Since there was no need to show rabid parents behind the podium, that section was closed and used for a large screen TV. Point being, it is no big deal to fill the auditorium in Pensacola.
