The infamous Trump quote about literally being able to get away with murder needs to be updated.
The updated quote should now be:
“I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn’t lose voters support from Republican leadership, okay? It’s like, incredible.”
The refusal of the Senate majority leader and the Speaker of the House to condemn this firing and to call for a special prosecutor to be assigned to investigate this administration and its ties to Russia is an abdication of their sworn allegiance to the country. They are putting party before country and should be made to pay dearly for their actions.
It saddens me that we don’t have protections against the wholesale corruption of our government by a party controlling the House, Senate and Presidency. Is there anything that could be done through the courts at this point? It seems Republicans have the power to pretty much shut down any and all investigations and do whatever they want in ignoring a possible corruption of our government by the Russians.
I believe the citizens of this country need to stand up to Donald Trump and his cronies and force Republican leaders to put their obligations to the country over those of their party and appoint a special prosecutor and lend support to turning over any and all leaves in the investigation of Russian corruption of our elections and our politicians.
We can do this by calling for a national strike of all workers except for emergency (medical, police, fire, etc.) and vital service workers. The strike should continue until a special prosecutor is named and agreed upon by Democrats and the Republican leadership pledges complete cooperation with the special prosecutor. The striking workers could attend marches and rallies.
