The Home Depot co-founder Ken Langone is a Trump-supporting billionaire (there’s almost no other kind). He was on Neil Cavuto’s Fox News show Wednesday night to discuss how billionaire Montana Republican Greg Gianforte should be ashamed of himself … no, of course he wasn’t on Fox News for that. Langone, like many “luminaries” on Fox News, was there to share the “wisdom” that comes from being a billionaire. Here’s what he had to say about government-run food assistance.
No American should go to bed hungry or starve to death. That's part of our culture. That's part of our value system in America. On the other hand, we know what goes on. Hell, people use food stamps to buy marijuana that is illegal or cocaine or whatever the hell else that they use to get high.
I’ve heard that there’s a woman who has numerous children, from an ungodly number of men, just in order to collect an extra couple hundred dollars every month! The harsh reality is that Ken Langone is a dumb person. He’s clearly out of touch with reality. Just a couple of months ago he told people on CNBC that Donald Trump “has the capacity to go down as one of our greatest presidents ever.”
Langone continued on to point out that the government isn’t run the way he would like. He gets “$40,000 a year” for social security and he says it’s obvious he doesn’t need that. This would be a good argument if Mr. Langone was willing to just give away the rest of the money he doesn’t actually “need,” but he isn’t, because he’s a greedy old windbag. He also can smell socialism all over healthcare. Cavuto asks him to speak to the hellacious CBO report on Trumpcare.
Langone: I'm saying something. Go back to the creation of Obamacare. I think that they had one thing in mind when they created it. A single payer. That's what they wanted. They created a lure that guarantees but it's own failings it will have to end up being a single payer.
Okay. And what is your point?
When people search for justice in this world, they look at Ken Langone and realize that capitalism is not a meritocracy—it’s a rigged craps table.
