A number of folks here have been touting “news” on the Trump-Russia investigation using the tweets of a guy named Claude Taylor as a source.
Hell, even Keith Olbermann seems to have gone down this particular rabbit hole — dragging John Dean with him.
Olbermann opens his speculative case for the existence of multiple Trump-Russia grand juries using Taylor’s claim that, according to Taylor’s sources, two grand juries have been impaneled on the Trump-Russia investigation.
Olbermann cites FBI Director James Comey’s testimony yesterday that the FBI was, in fact, working with the offices of two U.S. Attorneys on the case as evidence that Taylor’s grand jury tweet was correct. Olbermann claims that Watergate figure John Dean supports that interpretation.
But let’s remember that Olbermann’s speculation begins with that tweet from Claude Taylor.
What else has Claude Taylor “reported” *cough* from his “sources” *cough* via Twitter? Here are just a few of Taylor’s “breaking news” *cough* claims:
Taylor touts himself as a “former Clinton administration staffer.” He worked in the volunteer office in 1993 at a salary of $35,000. In the volunteer office. One would think, the way he and his band of promoters talk, that he was some national security insider.
Taylor’s circle jerk of retweeters includes something called Palmer Report which appears to be a left-leaning version of Infowars or Breitbart complete with promotion of unfounded rumors and wacky conspiracy theories, and the ever-present Louise Mensch, an off-the-rails British conservative prone to conspiracy theories.
Just because Comey said he was working with prosecutors does not imply that there are grand juries impaneled, as Taylor, and now Olbermann, have claimed. None of Taylor’s “breaking news” tweets over the past two months have been substantiated by any reputable news source, and a number of them have, in fact, been debunked, including by Snopes.
And let’s not forget Taylor’s string of tweets from April 20:
And, of course, all of this bullshit was promoted here by a Claude Taylor fan on April 21:
Why Is Chaffetz Resigning? It Will All Come Out in the Laundering
My sources have now confirmed that Chaffetz is still, in fact, a sitting member of Congress.
Taylor is the second coming of Jason “Rove-about-to-be-frog-marched-out-of-the-White House” Leopold, and Greg “I-have-thousands-of-Rove-emails-about-voter-caging-and-I’ve-turned-them-over-to-John-Conyers” Palast.
These folks are bullshitters who seek to put themselves at the center of their (made up) “breaking news.”
Self-aggrandizing, self-promoting hacks, all.
This kind of unsubstantiated garbage has no place here.
