I was just offered and accepted a permanent full time job with Amazon. There are people here who have actually accomplished amazing things and and are way smarter than I am and are better people than me. I know that I am less than nobody. I left a relationship which was extremely abusive in every, yes every way, for more than 5 years. Last year, I had multiple fractures broken multiple times. At times, some of the fractures have not felt right (ankle has felt like something is wrong there) , but it is good enough. However, I did get this in my email:

Again, I know my academic credentials do not begin to match some of the amazing people here. I did do a little bit in my education: A bachelor’s degree in social science with lots of Spanish, a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, a master’s degree in mathematics, and won the academic excellence award as a doctoral student from my math department (but have not completed my ph.d.). I did win my fair share of academic awards if it even matters. I am a certified public school teacher in Texas and my teacher certifications are bilingual generalist 4-8, math 4-12, and ESL all levels (and generalist EC-9). I have taught bilingual generalist (4th and 5th grade), 7th and 8th Grade Math and Math ESL, and High School math as well as at my university Texas State University San Marcos as a graduate instructional assistant. It is a permanent job. It is full time. It includes benefits. It is with a good company. It is not a ton of money $12.00 / hr. I am trying to get a second job. A teaching job would pay more and would be awesome, but I am thrilled to get this.
Getting out of a severely abusive relationship and starting a brand new life is hard. I am renting a room of a house. It will be a physically demanding job, but I am thankful for it. I am starting it on 27th. I am trying to tutor, find temp jobs, do anything I can because I cannot wait. If anybody needs any help in math for their kids or themselves in any way, I will be more than available if they would be able to help me. I do have a paypal account under my email robertallenproctor4atgmaildotcom. I live in San Antonio. If anybody lives here and needs work done, I would jump at the chance to earn money. Or if anybody would be able to donate to me, I would be very grateful. I am just trying to make it until I start getting regular paychecks from my new job. It is a temporary situation because I have been hired. My income will be enough to support me (since I do not have children other than my cat, Fluffy the Great ! ) and I live very modestly. However, I do have to pay my rent and utilities. And no paycheck yet because I do not start until 28th, next Thursday. I would most prefer to help people with any practical math assistance they might need — tutoring , tutoring their children, or business application. Math has lots of applications. And so I could earn the money that way. However, I would also be grateful if anybody might possibly choose to donate through my paypal. Last year, I had multiple bones fractured which meant less income and more bills.
I have tried to contribute having served on 8 mission trips including helping as part of a team to start an orphanage in Reynosa, having taken semesters off to help the needy with food and clothing, having done volunteer work as a tutor, and I am currently creating math curriculum for Children of The Night for free. This is an organization that helps set children free from pimps and that way of life and provides education. I found out that they need to somebody to create math curriculum for their students and I volunteered. So, your help would also enable me to continue my service. If you need help and perhaps I could do some work for you as a math tutor or you need a translator (Spanish/English — I have served as a professional translator for the Frito Lay Corporation at their corporate headquarters at 7701 Legacy Drive in Plano Texas), please kosmail me.
Again, I have a full time permanent job that I start for Amazon on the 27th. But I am in dire straits until I start getting my paychecks from my new job.
Thank you !!!
