Jeff Sessions wants to ramp up the civil asset forfeiture program again to rob more citizens

When the head of your political party is a con man scam artist, the people who have allowed that to happen are usually not much different. Attorney General and the world’s most racist and terrifying Keebler Elf Jeff Sessions announced on Monday his intentions to ramp up civil asset forfeiture as a way of ripping off the public fighting the war on drugs.

While criminal gangs have been growing and are numerous, their numbers are finite. If we target them aggressively, we can reduce homicides and make our communities safer.

In addition, we hope to issue this week a new directive on asset forfeiture—especially for drug traffickers. With care and professionalism, we plan to develop policies to increase forfeitures. No criminal should be allowed to keep the proceeds of their crime. Adoptive forfeitures are appropriate as is sharing with our partners.

Sessions, like the rest of the Republican Party, relies on tribalism language in most of his assertions. It’s a lot of  “gangs” of you-know-who (wink wink racist nudge nudge) are reeking havoc all over the place—just like you see on the local nightly news! As with everything Trump administration, this is a ginormous step in the opposite direction of progress. The past couple of years have seen a slow but steady move away from the clearly unconstitutional practice of civil asset forfeiture. You can discuss this turn of events over at this diary here.
