100 DAY UPDATE:
My District is deep in the Coal Field region of the country. They still mine coal here, mainly deep mined metallurgical coal. The need for steel will be here! Mountain-top Removal and Strip-mining is pretty much done here, though there is a hell-scape being created to our north and west.
I have had a few speaking engagements and my message of Medicaid Expansion/Medicare For All has been well received. Our support for Education, Teachers and Free Community College has drawn strong response.
One of my main reasons for running has been my vision for the future and the opportunity there is for Southwest Virginia in general and the Third House District in particular in the future that is already happening. There is and will be a $15 TRILLION dollar investment in creating a new energy source in the United States Alone.
My challenge is convincing my Brothers and Sisters in the mining and construction trades that they should embrace new careers and technologies. Here in SWVA we have heard Jobs over Trees for years, now there are no jobs and fewer and fewer trees! We can have jobs in coal and jobs in the new energy economy and lower electric bills in the bargain!
My goal is to help the Virginia Legislature enable the Power Companies to become willing partners in promoting the home-based production of electricity. We will always need large providers, but the structures for solar production are already in place. For those who don’t like the look of solar-panels, solar shingles are on the way.
I need your help in showing them in a short period of time that the future can be good to them. Not just jobs, but a healthy life as well!
So far the flood of donations has been limited to a faithful few! We need many small to large donations to get our message out to the voting public and motivate them to show up on Nov. 7!
