I don’t know about you but I’m a little overwhelmed with current events and with the hate and vitriol making the headlines daily.
So here are some wonderful stories to remind us that there are a whole lot of wonderful people out there.
Yesterday, in Atlanta, GA, a phalanx of incredible men welcomed boys to their first day of school with high fives and shouts of support.
In Nova Scotia,10 year old Xander Rose was becoming increasingly depressed because of relentless bullying at school. His worried mother reached out, for reasons I don’t fully understand, to an American biker organization called Defenders of the Children. In June, the group then rallied hundreds of bikers in Nova Scotia to give Xander a one of a kind escort to school.
In July, two young boys got caught in a strong riptide while playing at the beach in Panama City, Florida. Then more people became caught when they tried to save them. In response, 80 people took to the water to form a human rescue chain.
Also in July, as written about in this beautiful diary by Kossack Tevye, hundreds of strangers gathered in Muskegon, Michigan, to support a young veteran losing his beloved canine, a former Marine bomb-sniffing dog, to cancer.
There are so many wonderful people in the world. No matter how bad the news gets, it is important to remember that.
Feel free to add more stories about the best of humanity. I’m in the mood to cry some soul restoring tears today.
