Private enterprise exists to provide goods and services to customers. Customers are people who can afford to the goods and services. Government, on the other hand, provides services to all without concern for ability to pay. One of the important government services is public land, land which serves all people. One example of public lands is found in Vancouver, Washington: The Columbia River Renaissance Trail follows along the Columbia River which forms the cities border with neighboring city of Portland.
