Not sure how reputable a site Axios is (I tend to question anything these days that can’t be verified elsewhere), but this story may turn out to be a biggie.
President Trump has told close associates that he believes Steve Bannon is behind damaging leaks about White House colleagues, putting the chief strategist's job in fresh jeopardy…
- Trump has told associates he's fed up with what he sees as self-promotion by Bannon, who did not join the core team this week at the president's golf club in Bedminster, N.J.
- Bannon's time with Trump has diminished since the new chief of staff, retired Marine Gen. John Kelly, took over and imposed discipline on the circus around the Oval Office.
Emphasis in original.
The whole story is in bullet points, which is kind of annoying, and in my mind discredits it as being somewhat juvenile, but...if there’s some there there, added to the news over the past couple of days concerning the white nationalists stealing TRump’s thunder after giving him the election, maybe he’s had enough of one of the guys on his staff who knows what he’s doing (even if what he’s doing is horrible).
If either Kelly or TRUmp want him gone, then he might be gone, but if they BOTH want him gone, he won’t last until payday (which is the 15th for me).
Edit: Also reported by The Hill...as reported by Axios...so they seem to think it’s credible, at least.
