It's Festivus every morning for Donald Trump. You can imagine his long nights, wandering all by his lonesome in the halls of the White House, brooding on all the slights everyone has made against him, crafting his responses while he waits until the break of dawn for Twitter to open when he can air his grievances. With Fox & Friends blasting in the background, his stubby fingers reach for his phone and we all find out who he's pissed at today. Like there's a mystery. It's either going to be the Republicans in Congress or the media. Today it's both.
He's just so mad at Congress for not respecting his authority.
(wait for it)
This is after he threatens to shut down the government to force Congress to pay for his border wall. The one he promised all through the campaign that Mexico would pay for. Did he actually make that request? Who the hell knows. If he did, someone probably carefully explained to him that that's not how legislating works. Clearly a lesson that fell on deaf ears. By the way, raising the debt ceiling isn’t a mess.
Then he got diverted by thinking about the Fake News, where it took a few tries to get it right, but he got there and then a couple of random asides to retweet an idiot and attack former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and it was back to the feud Mitch McConnell says isn’t happening.
Yeah, about those “shared goals” you’re working together on, McConnell. … Trump’s just going to keep picking at that scab.
