I came across this yesterday, considered doing a diary about it but backed off, as it can be classed as “Twitter rumour” and could eventually prove untrue.
However, this morning’s attacks by Trump on Carmen Yulin Cruz, the mayor of San Juan, Puerto, for speaking truth to his power, and his further attacks on Puerto Rican Americans as a whole, lend credibility to what this Tweet user says. Because the first thing people like Trump will do, when they are called out for malfeasance, is attack those who call them out and try to turn the blame on them.
Or to put it another way: I have learned from observation that Trump is guilty of whatever he accuses others of doing… though these tweets suggest something far worse than “poor leadership.”
The thread’s author also has written for the Washington Post, which to me gives her some cred.
So here it is — a thread, please read the whole thing (click on the tweet). UPDATE: by popular demand, I’m posting the entire thread.
So — I post this tentatively, and you may rec or not as you wish.
The truth will eventually come out:
1) On how bad things are in Puerto Rico. With communication there as wrecked as it is, you can be certain the death toll is much higher, and many more horrific things are going on, than the reporters there — or anyone, including local authorities — can know. (See here and here.) In a case like that, for disaster relief, you send supplies based on existing population stats, not word from local authorities or fantasy-land Internet registrations. And damn the cost. (I am not an expert in disaster relief. This is just obvious to me as a human being.)
2) On whether what happened at this meeting really happened. Lots of good people apparently were at that meeting, who know the truth should come out about what this ‘president’ is. And good people have been leaking about this carcinogenic administration from day one.
If it is true, it explains why the heartless shitstain is attacking the mayor: she was the main one who goosed him into action by speaking truth instead of grovelling, and so made him look bad for being guilty of exactly what he is guilty of.
#TrumpkillsAmericans.

User vacantlook refers me to a series of tweets by a former disaster relief leader in the Obama admin, cited in a story in Vox. He is “so mad I could spit.”
I would say the WH being empty-handed on the 25th (Monday) when the FEMA teleconf happened can certainly be attributed to Trump’s paying more attention on the preceding weekend to his drives and putts than to the home of 3.5 million Americans having been trashed.
It is interesting also that his first top-level meeting was apparently held the day after, Tuesday the 26th. Perhaps someone, or several someones, who were on that teleconf privately read him the Riot Act afterwards. It certainly seems the only time he ever does something good is due to a good person or people kicking him in the ass at least several times with a steel-toed boot.

I DM’d Holly O’Reilly, asking her if her source has been in contact with reporters. She says s/he has, multiple news outlets are looking for corroborating information, and we should look for the story to come out in the next few months.
Something tells me it will come out faster than that.

More Twitterrhea from the asshole in the WH this morning about what a great job he's doing, “fake news,” “politically-motivated ingrates,” etc. (I’m not going to embed the spew) ...can only mean one thing. He knows damn well that his response has actually sucked, and is doing his level best to cover that up.
History will judge you, “sir”.
