A couple of things regarding one of Donald Trump’s tweets over the weekend:
First of all, Trump killed Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)—or rather, he had Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III, America’s most racist Keelbler elf, go out in front of cameras and do it because he was too much of a coward to announce it himself.
Secondly, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) presented Trump with a bipartisan DACA fix that addresses every one of Trump’s complaints. Maybe Trump’s been too busy hoping he can appease his racist base with his racist “shithole” rant to notice or care?
Thirdly, repeat draft dodger Trump doesn’t get to insult the U.S. military (remember Gold Star dad Khizr Khan? Remember Gold Star widow Myeshia Johnson?) then use it as a shield for personal failings. And as Congressman Ted Lieu (D-CA) tweeted, the “bipartisan DREAM Act doesn't take money from military.”
Finally, Trump controls the White House, the House and the Senate. He doesn’t get to blame Barack Obama, or Hillary Clinton, or Dick Durbin, or anyone else for the fact that he’s the one putting 800,000 lives at risk. This is all on him. Trump broke it, and now he and his GOP Congress have gotta fix it.
