Seeing the right do a sudden 180 on Julian Assange, whom they once demonized but now virtually hero worship, is about as curious as seeing the holdouts on the left continue to defend him, make excuses for him and hold him up as some kind of beacon of truth and transparency when more than enough evidence exists that points in the exact opposite direction. What Wikileaks once represented has now been corrupted beyond repair. There’s neither honesty nor integrity to be found in an organization that selectively leaks information to creative a incomplete and thus false narrative and push a particular partisan agenda. This isn’t truth, it’s manipulative cherry picking that distorts the actual truth. It’s no longer an exaggeration to say that Assange is clearly in bed with the GOP and Putin to help enable the destruction of American as we know it. This is fact. Need some more proof?
Two days ago, Sean Hannity’s Twitter account was deactivated for several hours following the mysterious tweet “Form Submission 1649.” When it was reactivated, he was missing 400,000 followers, which have since been restored PLUS hundreds of thousands of “new” followers who weren’t even there before. No clue what went on there but Twitter has since come forward to say that Hannity’s account had been “compromised.” While the official Hannity account was busy being, uh, “compromised,” a number of fake Hannity troll accounts sprung up in its absence. One of these did particularly well in fooling people…
Texan Dell Gilliam, a technical writer at home with the flu, ended up with more info than she bargained for when she decided to create a new Twitter account as @SeanHannity__ (underscore added to the official @seanhannity) to impersonate the temporarily-absent Faux Noise mouthpiece. Much to her shock, she gained tens of thousands of followers almost instantly and even started receiving private messages from none other than Julian Assange. And Julian wanted some to exchange some information on “other channels.”
Copies of the Twitter exchange between Gilliam and Assange can be found over at The Daily Beast (who broke this story), including...
“I can’t believe this is happening. I mean… I can. It’s crazy. Nothing can be put past people,” Gilliam, posing as Hannity, wrote to Assange. “I’m exhausted from the whole night. What about you, though? You doing ok?”
“I’m happy as long as there is a fight!” Assange responded.
Gilliam reassured Assange that she, or Hannity, was also “definitely up for a fight” and set up a call for 9:30 a.m. Eastern, about six hours later.
“You can send me messages on other channels,” said Assange, the second reference to “other channels” he made since their conversation began.
“Have some news about Warner.”
The Warner in question that Assange has “some news about” is Virginia Senator Mark Warner, the top ranking democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, who just today announced the committee had acquired new evidence in the Trump / Russia scandal. Apparently Julian doesn’t like that.
So what exactly can we gauge from this correspondence?
1. Assange has leaked information to Hannity / Fox News in the past. This clearly is not their first correspondence.
2. Hannity’s sudden transformation from being one of Assange’s biggest critics to his biggest cheerleader now makes perfect sense.
3. Assange has been secretly exchanging information with Hannity through “other channels” to then push on state run propaganda channel Fox News to undermine the Russia investigation and slander / discredit anyone who plans on looking into matters.
4. If you believe Assange isn’t using “other channels” to communicate / exchange information / discuss what blackmail material is conveniently on hand with the Trump administration and Republicans members of Congress, you’re sadly mistaken.
Naturally, Sean Hannity has dismissed this as #fakenews on Twitter to pacify his lemming supporters, which is odd considering he took no part in the actual conversation in question. Assange himself has not even acknowledged the exchange, which speaks volumes.
