Hello, writers. NaNoWriMo starts next Thursday, so let’s hear your goals! The official goal over at NaNoWriMo.org is 50,000 new words, but here at WO! we make our own goals, because that’s just how we roll.

So tell us your writing, revising, or writing-related goal for the month of November, bearing in mind that Thanksgiving and GOTV activities will take their bite of your time.

But nonetheless, you will prevail.

And everyone, please note: Even if you don’t meet your goal, this is still an extremely worthwhile undertaking, so go for it! In the ten years we’ve been doing this here at WO!, I have only met my goal once, when at Mnemosyne’s urging I cranked out 50k words which eventually became Jinx.

All the other years I’ve missed my goal, whatever it was, but I’ve always ended up with something I didn’t have at the beginning of the month. And so will you.
