Gavin McInnis founder of the Supremacist Nationalist group of the Proud Boys has “reluctantly" been forced to resign due to the fact that their being repeatedly caught on tape violently beating up anti-Fascist protestors, arrested by the NYPD and considered domestic terrorists has caused the FBI to consider them an “extremist” group.
Consequently McInnis isn’t that "proud" anymore.
Gavin McInnes, the co-founder of Vice magazine who went on to create the Proud Boys, has resigned from the group he founded in the wake of news that the FBI categorizes the group as “extremists” with ties to “white nationalism.”
“In all capacities, forever, I quit,” McInnes said in a 36-minute long video announcing his departure.
He added that he was resigning “reluctantly” because “rumors and lies and terrible journalism has made its way to the court system,” resulting in the “serious charges” being brought against members of the “fraternal organization.”
McInnes added that his lawyers and law enforcement told him his stepping down could “alleviate their sentencing.”
“This will show jurors that they’re not dealing with a gang and there’s no head of operations,” he said.
Later in the video, McInnes said “it’s unlikely than any of us will ever meet a white supremacist.
“This whole idea of white nationalist and white supremacy is a crock,” he said. “Why are we talking about it so much? Such people don’t exist.”
Perhaps we can now call him “Ashamed Boy” or maybe “Coward Boy” and "Punkass Boy” would be more appropriate.
