Fox News contributor Tomi Lahren is known for outrageous statements. She backed President Donald Trump on his “sh**hole” countries” comment, refuses to empathize with NFL players kneeling during the national anthem, and blames feminists for political harassment. She’s known for being contrarian and producing endless numbers of hot takes, if not for being outright racist, xenophobic, and misogynistic.
But one of her tweets this Sunday is especially atrocious:
On Sunday, the Trump administration tear-gassed a group of people, including children, seeking asylum at the Tijuana border. As reported by CNN, about 500 people approached the border before teargas was deployed. U.S. officials actually closed the border entirely, in response to migrants protesting the slow processing of their entry applications and shelter conditions in Mexico.
Surprising no one, Trump tweeted about the caravan and declared, “No crossings!” on Saturday:
Which led actress Alyssa Milano to tweet:
Which is when Lahren inserted herself.
This isn't the first time Lahren has commented on immigration. One of her more disgusting comments (of which there are many) was her declaration that low-skilled workers are not “what this country is based on.” Lahren went to the border herself over the summer. Her final thoughts? To her, these Border Patrol agents are “humanitarians.”
In the video below, she notes at length that the agents “cared about people first” and make sure “people are safe.” At this point, she seems dedicated to oblivion, if not outright ignorance.
It’s really no wonder people applaud when she has drinks thrown at her in restaurants.
