Friday, December 7, Jared Kushner invited Matt Whitaker for a ride on Marine 1. Kushner is a subject of investigation by Special Counsel Mueller, and Whitaker is the US Acting Attorney General in charge of that investigation. See any problem, any conflict with those two taking a flight together?
The flight apparently raises no suspicions for The Washington Post, The New York Times, or The Wall Street Journal. A search at 11 a.m. today shows no posts whatsoever in any of the three major national papers about the flight either today, Sunday, Saturday or Friday.
But AG Loretta Lynch and Bill Clinton talking about the grandchildren on Clinton’s plane! Another story:
Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley said at the time that Lynch should recuse herself for her chat with Bill Clinton. So far, no Republican has expressed any problem with Kushner and Whitaker’s joy ride on Marine 1.
“...Grassley nor any other prominent Republican has criticized Whitaker’s latest meeting with Kushner and Trump or demanded that Whitaker recuse himself from contact with Mueller’s investigation.”
Maybe Kushner and Whitaker were talking about the grand kids on Marine 1. Oh, that’s right, they don’t have any.
Headline changed to reflect per update above that Kushner and Whitaker were not on Marine 1 officially because Trump was not on board. It was a helicopter used for Marine 1, though, when Individual 1; i.e., Trump, is on board.
