If you haven’t come across Trump apologist and NRA schmatriot Dan Bongino, lucky you! Bongino’s big claim to fame was that he was a former Secret Service agent whose insane Trumpian temper led him to be too bananas a candidate for political office for even Florida Republicans to deal with back in 2016. That’s pretty bonkers. Bongino had just begun a new NRA TV show called We Stand, because why not? Turns out, the answer to why not was Because we might be going broke. The Daily Beast reports that Bongino’s show was canceled. Already! So sad! Maybe our thoughts and prayers will fill that ego-sized hole!
After the Daily Beast publicized Bongino’s canceled show, Bongino said it was “fake news,” and proceeded to explain that he—Dan Bongino—had decided to cancel his show.
Evidence that his show was ending first came over the weekend, when he removed “NRATV host” from the bio on his Twitter account. Additionally, a little noticed Fox News broadcast referred to Bongino as a “Former NRATV Contributor” several weeks ago.
This comes just over a week after reports of other NRATV shows getting the ax, and numerous stories about the NRA’s considerable financial, political, and legal troubles. But maybe this isn’t an economic decision at all, and Mr. Bongino wanted to focus on appearing as a talking head lamenting the war on Christmas?
