I would like to introduce to you my campaign for the Board of Supervisors in Fairfax County, Virginia. I launched this effort in July 15, 2018 to respond to the needs of my community regarding pedestrian friendly streets, safety for transit users, urgent environmental needs and tax accountability, since we live in a special tax district with higher rates than the rest of the county.
As a board member of one of the largest and best managed Home Owner’s Associations in the D.C. region, I’ve worked for the past 6 years with many families, seniors, children, and youth to improve the place we all call home.
From my community, I have advanced environmental stewardship and changes that will impact our environment: supporting planting of native species, working on cleanups to remove invasive species or plastic from trails and streams and also lead the way to install electric car chargers in my 2,800-resident community. This moved us from having two electric cars to ten in only 9 months!
I am also a wife, a mother and carry high responsibilities with my duties of Court Officer in a Northern Virginia jurisdiction. I seek the Democratic nomination to represent my Providence District neighbors as the first Latina to ever serve on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors and you can find more about this effort at: www.ErikaforSupervisor.org also, you can donate if you are inclined to support this effort.
Warm holiday wishes,
Erika Milena Yalowitz.
