Received this e-mail yesterday from Randy “Ironstache” Bryce (D. WI-01), who is running against Speaker Paul Ryan (R. WI-01), in support of former Federal Prosecutor and Marine Veteran Conor Lamb’s (D. PA-18) campaign in the Special Election to fill disgraced Rep. Tim Murphy’s (R. PA-18) seat:
I'm not the only target Paul Ryan and his Super PAC have got their eye on -- a special election on March 13 for Pennsylvania's 18th Congressional District has caught their attention, too.
But Conor Lamb, a Marine veteran and former federal prosecutor, is putting up a heck of a fight. Despite being outspent by at least 6 to 1, Conor is within 3 points of winning the first congressional election of 2018.
Conor's running for the working people that politicians like Paul Ryan have lied to or ignored, just like me. That's why I hope you'll join me, an ironworker, in supporting Conor for Congress from the Pittsburgh area in southwestern Pennsylvania -- Steel City territory.
Can I count on you to chip in $3 or more to Conor in the crucial last days of the campaign?
Pennsylvania's 18th is a place where, as Conor says, "people have always gone to work, often at an early age, and often with their hands. It's where our parents and grandparents built the bridges and roads that built this country."
I don't know about you, but that sounds a lot like Wisconsin's 1st Congressional District to me. Before I launched this campaign, I was a union ironworker working on building a parking garage for the local VA. And, just like here at home, too many people in Conor's district have been left behind by politicians like Paul Ryan who reward special interests at the expense of regular people.
We don't need more politicians in Congress who do nothing but cut taxes for corporations and millionaires. We need leaders, like Conor, who will stand up to Paul Ryan, who aren't afraid to say the word "union" and who will do everything they can to make sure working people have a voice.
I would be proud to serve alongside Conor in Congress, but with just over a month to go, he needs our help to get there -- so chip in $3 or more now.
Thank you,
Randy Bryce
