It seems Lehigh University faculty are tired of all this winning. They recently overwhelmingly voted to rescind the honorary degree given to Donald Trump in 1988, citing his character (or lack thereof) and behavior. From WMFZ:
University officials told 69 News Tuesday afternoon that faculty voted to rescind the degree bestowed on Trump in 1988.
Online voting on the issue ended Monday afternoon. There was a 76 percent response rate with 83 percent in favor of revoking the degree.
Some faculty members had been pushing the Board of Trustees to rescind Trump's degree. Two weeks ago, nearly 50 of Lehigh's 471 faculty members approved a motion to hold an electronic vote for the entire teaching body to vote on whether to rescind the degree. They said Trump's behavior goes against the character and standards of the Lehigh community.
Last October, the board decided to take no action after being presented with a petition signed by nearly 35,000 people.
The university’s Board of Trustees will make the ultimate decision. If you are an alum of Lehigh, you might want to reach out and make your wishes known.
