More good news today out of Arizona courtesy of Public Policy Polling’s latest poll:
In a hypothetical US Senate election matchup, voters prefer Democrat Kyrsten Sinema overRepublican Martha McSally 46-41. Among voters who say that health care is the most important issue, Sinema’s lead grows to 71-17 over McSally.
Here’s the big issue in Arizona in this race:
Health care is ranked as a top issue for 68% of voters (21% saying it is the most important issue and another 47% saying it is very important). Only 9% say it is not that important or not important at all.
And here are two reasons why Republicans like McSally are in trouble:
Arizona voters disapprove of the Republican efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act by17 points (53% to 36%). Among independent voters, the disparity is even wider with only 24%supporting the GOP’s health care repeal efforts to 63% opposing them.
Only 38% of voters think the best path forward on health care is to repeal the AffordableCare Act, to 56% who think it should be kept in place with fixes made to it as necessary.
You’ll notice I’ve called Rep. McSally an idiot in my title. I’m not doing that to be mean, she really is an idiot because of this:
Rep. Martha McSally (R-Ariz.) was called out after it appeared she commented on a video on her Facebook page thanking herself for her service.
McSally over the weekend posted a video to Facebook, with the caption reading: "58,318. That’s how many lives were taken between 1957 and 1975 due to wounds inflicted in the Vietnam war, and that’s how many names are inscribed on the Vietnam Memorial Wall in DC."
"619 of those names belong to Arizonans who were killed in the war. 107 of those names belong to individuals from Tucson. Today I’m LIVE from the #WallthatHeals, a replica that’s visiting Oro Valley," the caption said.
McSally's Facebook page then commented on the video, saying: "Great video quality! Thank you for your service!" Law & Crime reported.
And this:
Rep. Martha McSally (R-Ariz.) proposed building a border wall between California and Arizona to protect the state.
“As we look in Arizona, we often look into the dangers of the southern border,” McSally said during a round-table discussion about "sanctuary cities" Tuesday at the White House.
Sanctuary cities are municipalities that do not cooperate with federal immigration enforcement.
“But if these dangerous policies continue out of California, we might need to build a wall between California and Arizona as well to keep these dangerous criminals out of our state," she said, smiling.
Let’s flip this seat and win us a Democratic majority. Click here to donate and get involved with Sinema’s campaign.
