He could be the other GOP defector here:
Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) said on Tuesday that he is undecided on CIA Director Mike Pompeo's nomination to lead the State Department.
"I'm still waiting for some information from him," Flake told reporters after a closed-door lunch meeting, after he was asked if he had made a decision.
Flake's indecision comes as Pompeo is already facing opposition from one Republican senator: Rand Paul (Ky.).
Republicans hold a fragile 51-seat majority in the Senate. With Paul's opposition and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) absent, they are already one vote shy of the 50 they need to let Vice President Pence break a tie.
If Flake, who supported Pompeo's nomination to be CIA director, ultimately votes against him, that would require that Pompeo pick up at least two Democratic votes in order to be confirmed.
Flake is retiring and he’s been able to speak out against Trump. It’s now time for action from him. He needs to join Rand Paul and vote against Pompeo. Click here to contact his office and urge him to vote no on Pompeo’s confirmation.
