Oklahoma teachers continue to refuse to allow the children of Oklahoma and themselves to shoulder the blame for the Republican Party’s failures to support the state’s public education system. They are in their third day of resistance against the half-measure budget increase signed by Governor Mary Fallin on Tuesday—striking and closing down schools across the state. For their part, Republicans have acted shocked that teachers are ungrateful for the meager scraps being offered after decades of ill-advised budget cuts to education. But nothing shows the disdain and cruel ignorance of the Republican Party like Oklahoma Republican Governor Mary Fallin. In an interview with CBS News she had this to say:
"Teachers want more," Fallin said. "But it's kind of like a teenager wanting a better car."
Governor Mary Fallin, ladies and gentlemen. Teachers asking for more money and financial support to watch the state’s children for 40 hours and week and think about the best ways to nourish these children’s minds and souls for about 20 hours every day is like a spoiled teenager asking for a better car. You can look at the numerous images from Oklahoma teachers, showing the “jalopy” conditions in classrooms here. Oklahoma teachers are paid worse than every other state in the Union.
1. Oklahoma
Annual mean wage: $42,460
2. Mississippi
Annual mean wage: $43,950
3. South Dakota
Annual mean wage: $44,210
4. North Carolina
Annual mean wage: $45,220
5. West Virginia

So, Governor Mary Fallin, you can take your dumb not understanding basic civics, prayer day for the oil industry (not a joke) having, morally bankrupt, unpopular ass, back to the classroom. The teachers and their students are on their feet and school is in session—the lesson syllabus includes civil disobedience, labor strikes and income inequality. We are coming for you and we don’t simply want a better car. We want THE BEST FUCKING CAR YOU’VE GOT.
