Republicans apparently don’t think their party can survive another “infrastructure week.” All the fanfare about infrastructure as one of Donald Trump’s top priorities and areas of expertise—he’s a builder, guys!—is officially fizzling:
Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters that all of President Donald Trump's talk of a massive, trillion-dollar upgrade to America's infrastructure, from "Infrastructure Week" declarations to a 53-page plan unveiled three months ago, won't produce "a specific piece of legislation" in 2018.
If there’s no “specific piece of legislation,” then what is there besides talk? And, John Harwood notes, if there’s no infrastructure legislation, then Republicans have no serious legislative agenda for 2018 at all.
