Aaron M. Schlossberg is finally paying for what’s proving to be a lengthy history of unapologetic, unabashed bigotry and xenophobia.
On Wednesday, the Twitter Detective Agency quickly identified the 42-year-old New York attorney as the screeching maniac who’d lost all common sense and decency the day before, after he overheard three people speaking Spanish to each other in a Midtown Manhattan restaurant.
After Shaun King raised the bat signal, Schlossberg was quickly identified, and more videos of him surfaced, proving beyond any reasonable doubt that this attorney and Donald Trump supporter has a history of racial violence.
First, Schlossberg (who is Jewish) was revealed to be the dude in the puffer jacket chanting “Milo” and screaming “Fake Jews!” at rabbis and other Haredi Jews who support Palestine, back in May 2017.
Next, it was learned that he accosted a (Caucasian) Massachusetts couple on Fifth Avenue way back in October 2016, calling them “ugly fucking foreigners.”
Then, a video of him surfaced wherein he was harassing Latino people while wearing a Breitbart t-shirt, calling them “losers” and doing a weird and aggressive dance that truly must be seen to be understood.
By Wednesday evening, Schlossberg’s legal practice had been so thoroughly assaulted on Yelp that the review site suspended new reviews. The law firm’s Google listing even came up as a “Spanish Restaurant” for precious little time, but that joyful “error” has since been corrected.
The Schlossberg firm’s Facebook page was also overrun with some amazingly clever commentary before it was deactivated.
There was also a successful GoFundMe effort to fund a mariachi band, piñatas, and free tacos to greet him at his office, just a few doors down from the restaurant where this story all began.
By Thursday morning, the mainstream media finally came for him. And what did Aaron M. Schlossberg, attorney at law, do when confronted by the big-kid cameras?
Why, he ran, just like all bigoted cowards do.
First, local station PIX11 caught up with him in court.
Then, the New York Post found him, and he hid under an umbrella before calling the cops and lying like a nosy lady at an Oakland barbecue.
My personal favorite, though? This oh-so-sweet evasion from NBC News this afternoon.
In addition to all the running around that Schlossberg’s been doing today, it seems he’s also got some other problems to deal with.
A change.org petition is calling for his disbarment; as of this writing, it’s got more than 12,000 signatures. In addition, the New York Bar Association claims it’s never heard of him, despite Schlossberg flaunting his membership online. Note: the NYBA is a voluntary membership organization, not to be confused with the State Bar.
Schlossberg’s website plainly stated he was “a member of the New York State Bar Association.” But a phone call proved that to be resoundingly untrue.
“Mr. Schlossberg is not a member of the New York State Bar Association,” Dan Weiller, the group’s managing director of marketing and communications, declared to NewsOne in no uncertain terms during a phone call Thursday morning.
His office building has terminated his lease due to his shitty values, and New York Congressman Adriano Espaillat and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. also filed a formal complaint against him with the New York State Unified Court System’s Departmental Disciplinary Committee, “calling on the panel to investigate the attorney and possibly revoke his license.”
Oh, and that solemn blonde woman who used to be all over his firm’s website? All mentions and imagery of her have now been removed, and late Thursday afternoon, she tweeted that she wants “no further association with him or his views.”
So yes, Aaron M. Schlossberg, bigoted attorney at law, is having a very, very bad day.
And you know what? Friday’s probably going to be worse. Why, you might ask, dear Counselor?
