St. Louis Metropolitan police lieutenant Jerry Foster was allegedly the person who wrote this on his personal Facebook page.
I'm not sure what the hell is going on in our country these days. I just drove by an authentic Mexican restaurant in town; and there were white guys putting on a new roof, cutting the grass and doing landscaping.
And while no specific Mexican restaurant was name checked, it hasn’t taken too much sleuthing to figure out what Foster might have been referring to. As KMOV reports, the location tag on the Facebook post and the fact that Foster lives about a block away from a certain restaurant, undergoing renovations, led reporters to Jose Romero, owner of Casa Romero restaurant.
"I guess that's the way he thinks, and that's sad," said Romero. "I don't lose any sleep over this. Simple as that."
The white contractor who has been working on Casa Romero’s renovations for the last three months is Mike Lasky.
"It's no issue to me, so I didn't understand why somebody would post something like that," said Mike Lasky. [...]
"It's disturbing and I hate to see it, but it just shows that it does exist and it's sad," said Lasky.
News 4 found previous controversial posts tied to Lt. Foster's account, including a 2016 comment where he allegedly called liberals the "Democratic Criminal Party" after Michael Brown's mother, Lezley McSpadden, was invited to speak at the party's national convention.
KMOV says they contacted the police department and were told that the matter “was under investigation.” We will see.
