I am so sick and tired of watching the Democrats playing softball with Trump and the Republicans while he is destroying our Democracy. I watched Chuck Todd on MTP Daily yesterday throwing softball questions at Senator Kennedy. For some strange reason, Chuck did not ask the most obvious and important pertinent question; How do you feel about the Republicans being complicit in helping Trump to see evidence in an investigation of himself? Or; since when is it O.K. for a subject of an investigation to see the evidence? Instead, Chuck simply asked how the party felt about all the conspiracy theories and the back and forth. Kennedy responded; "Trump has a right to ask, and you can't blame him for that". I couldn’t believe my ears. Our democracy is under attack, and we are playing footsie with the attackers.
I am tired of all the wishy washy talking points and the attempts by the Democrats to show respect for the Office of the President. I understand that they don't want to stoop to the level of Trump, but that is exactly what they need to do. If you wonder why Michael Avenatti has had so much success in dealing with and combating Trump, it is, because he doesn't play softball. Regardless of what you think of him, he has dome more to shut-down Trump than anyone in the previous year. It is, because he fights fire with fire.
It is now time for the Democrat Congressmen to do the same. Every single one of them should stand-up when interviewed by the media and make the following statement: It is time for the Republicans in Congress to acknowledge that "there is no Deep State". Each and every time they are interviewed they need to make that statement and also demand that the Republicans acknowledge that there is "No Spygate". They need to repeat that over and over again. It is time to hold "all Republicans" accountable for the irresponsible erosion by their Party of our democracy. They should not be allowed to remain silent. If they do not refute Trumps claims, then they are absolutely and undeniably complicit. It is that simple. We must call them out at every opportunity. Day-in and day-out until they do. At some point down the road, at the very least, they will not be able to deny or make excuses for their behavior.
