Fox & Friends is where ideas go to get waterboarded in a right-wing wonderland that would send Lewis Carroll into a catatonic state. Pete Hegseth is a “Fox News contributor.” These days being a “contributor” to Fox News is virtually the same as auditioning for a job in our corrupt orange reality television host’s White House. In fact, Hegseth was rumored to be in the running for the open Veteran Affairs position until military veterans made it loud and clear they had no interest in Hegseth’s version of being a veteran. Asked about what Kim Jong Un might want in a negotiation and why Kim Jong Un will make a deal with Trump, Hegseth explained how tough it is being a psychopathic leader of an acknowledged human rights violating system.
Hegseth: I think he wants a picture with the president. The sanctions are having massive affect there, no doubt. The Chinese have put the screws on that—the Chinese are still playing a double game, absolutely. And then I think that there comes a point where the guy that wants to meet with Dennis Rodman and loves NBA basketball, and love western pop culture, probably doesn’t love being the guy that has to murder his people all day long. He probably wants some normalization—let’s give it to him.
I guess you can argue that Kim Jong Un’s mass-murdering of civilians under a totalitarian and globally acknowledged human rights violating system is tiring. Maybe we can argue that it’s as “tiring” as that second wife Pete Hegseth ended up allegedly cheating on. Who knows? It seems inappropriate for me to bring up his personal life but then again, Hegseth is a guy that took Koch brothers money to sell out his fellow United States veterans.
Then again, when the president is a guy who cannot even be bothered with the basic details of what one might negotiate with a world leader, because he’s such a vapid sociopath, this analysis might be just what the 30 percent who righteously call themselves “deplorable” want to hear.
I have the clip starting at the end where Pete Hegseth gives his early morning opinion on foreign policy down below. You can go back and watch the whole segment but, fair warning, you will lose a few hundred thousands brain cells doing so.
Note: Below the fold you can find a clip from this past summer where Hegseth pooh-poohs our “sanctions” on North Korea.
