This one's for the history books—when the reckoning finally comes for the GOP's bankrupt Trump-era leadership, and the historians tear Paul Ryan limb-from-limb for his total dereliction of duty to our country.
Here's Ryan’s exchange on Thursday with NBC reporter Kasie Hunt regarding Donald Trump’s repeated interference with the Department of Justice, the FBI, and the investigation into his campaign’s ties to Russia.
Hunt: Do you think that the president has done any lasting damage to the FBI and DOJ?
Ryan: No, I do not believe that that is the case. I think, first of all, it's important that we have good thorough oversight—good thorough oversight, accountability and transparency heals all wounds that are committed by a government.
Ryan has now moved into the upside down with Trump. Somewhere amid Trump’s lies, manipulations and continued calls to investigate his investigators in order to undermine the rule of law—aided by House Republicans like Reps. Devin Nunes and Mark Meadows—“good thorough oversight” is taking place. Ryan misplaced his spine a long time ago but this claim is so baseless it’s downright slimy.
