Serial sexual predator Harvey Weinstein turned himself in to police Friday morning and was officially arrested and charged:
He is then expected to be released on bail, surrender his passport and be equipped with an electronic monitoring device.
The NYPD told USA TODAY in a statement Friday that Weinstein was processed and faces charges of rape, criminal sex act, sex abuse and sexual misconduct stemming for interactions with two female individuals.
Weinstein got a handcuffed mini-perp walk, which was a welcome sight. Deadline reports that:
Though accused by close to 80 women, the charges apparently center on three incidents within the Empire State’s statute of limitations: former Boardwalk Empire actor Paz de la Huerta has claimed that Weinstein raped her twice in 2010, and a 2004 occurrence where college student Lucia Evans said the Hollywood mogul compelled her to perform oral sex on him.
Here’s hoping Weinstein finally faces real consequences for his actions.
