Hey Folks,
So, the mid-terms are steaming at us like a train with the break lines cut, and Pennsylvania is primed to be a political battleground. After Trump carried the state in 2016, Democrats find themselves on the defensive with the two big statewide races, but pick up opportunities exist. Millions of dollars will be spend in various races, and my money is likely to not mean a whole lot, but I wanted to raise some money for some candidates who need it, and for whom a few bucks will go a long way. We have a mix of federal and state races, as well as a mix of different areas.
The fundraising is split up between 6 different candidates. I encourage you to donate if it is within your means. The candidates are:
Congressman Matt Cartwright — PA-08 (Northeast PA, one of two incumbents targeted by Republicans, and my personal Congressman)
Susan Wild — PA-07 (Lehigh Valley, one of our best flip opportunities)
Susan Boser — PA-15 (Rural PA, cheap market)
Kerith Strano Taylor — HD-66 (going after Cris Dush, who wants to impeach the PA Supreme Court)
Rebecca Kinney — HD-111 (Northeast PA, Wayne and Susquehanna Counties)
Erin Condo McCracken — HD-171 (Centre County, strong campaign, very winnable race)
After attending state committee this past weekend, I can tell you all these candidates are really gearing up, and the better funded they are and the harder they run, the stronger the local parties become. The seats in the Philadelphia market are expected to see a flood of money, and rightfully so, but PA is not going to become a reliably blue state again without the support of strong county parties and committees across the state. The rebuilding process can begin this year with wins or close races in red areas.
