In an exclusive interview with Thinkprogress one of Fox News original hires, Carl Cameron, who rose to be become their top political correspondent during many of the Bush years has come out and said that Trump and his campaign not only colluded with the Russians during the election, they’re still doing it.
Former Fox News Channel chief political correspondent Carl Cameron has a warning for America: “The Trump team were colluding with the Russians in 2016 – and they are still colluding.”
“Roger Stone’s success,” as Cameron had put it to ThinkProgress, “was having the connections and creating the opportunities for [Russian intelligence officer] Guccifer2.0 and other Russian groups to really start taking advantage of social media and pounding these negative memes that Hillary’s a crook, etc.”

In the weeks since the June 5 post, Cameron has told ThinkProgress that the cyberattack isn’t over, warning “the exact same type of Russian cyberattacks on the United States are ongoing.”
Indeed, McClatchy reported last month that “a new Russian influence operation has surfaced that mirrors” the 2016 cyberattack effort to help elect Trump. Just last week, HuffingtonPost reported that “Russian bots appear to be fueling a wave of criticism targeting Democrats” using the hashtag #WalkAway.
We are still at war with the Russians. Or rather, the Russians are asymmetrically at war with us while the President and his allies dismiss the findings of his own Justice Department and intelligence agencies.
Trump continues to promote Russian President Vladimir Putin’s claims that the Kremlin has not been running any such operation—while smearing the intelligence agencies and experts who say otherwise.
“Whenever the President denies the entire idea of Russian interference in U.S. elections — and labels investigations into such interference a hoax or witch hunt,” Cameron told ThinkProgress, “he is enabling the biggest cyberattack in U.S. history.”

Cameron has it precisely on the head. The “collusion” has been in Trump and his campaigns ridiculous and annoying denials which have DEFENDED THE RUSSIANS in their attack on our elections even when at least three members of his campaign — George Papadopoulos, Carter Page and Donald Jr. -— had all been specifically told that the Russians had “Emails and Dirt” on Hillary months before that information had become public knowledge.
None of them did the right thing, which is report what they’d been told to the FBI — instead they all helped the Russians to COVER IT THE FUCK UP!!!
They’ve been obstructing this investigation from day one and that itself IS THE COLLUSION.
Just again listen to Donald Jr. losing his mind with denials and phony outrage after Robby Mook originally said that the Russian were responsible for the DNC hack.
“Well, this just goes to show you their exact moral compass. They’ll say anything in order to win this, it’s time and time again, lie after lie. He’s won’t say ‘Well, I say this...” he says “experts say...” his house cat at home once said that this is what’s happening with the Russians? It’s disgusting, it’s so phony.

I can’t think of bigger lies, but that’s just an example of the Clinton Campaign will do.
Why exactly was Don Jr. so “disgusted” by this suggestion? What made it such a “big lie?” Could it be the fact that he’d already had a meeting with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya offering him “Dirt on Hillary Clinton” and/or knew that Papadopoulos had been told about the Russians having “thousands of Hillary’s emails?”
He’s calling it a “disgusting lie” here because he knows for a fact that it’s. the. truth., because without that the intensity of his reaction doesn’t make sense. Why would he otherwise want to defend Russia so badly, if he didn’t know they were guilty — and the fact that he already knows they’re guilty also implicates him and the rest of his campaign?
Trump is still doing exactly that when he says — in the wake of 12 Russian Military Intel officers being indicted for their involvement in the hack, which is addition to the other 13 Russian nationals who were previously indicted for trying to influence and suppress the pro-Hillary vote with fake online ads and trolls — that this is all just a “rigged hoax” and a bunch of “stories.”
NO, these are criminal felony charges in U.S. Federal court that can, and have, sent people including his former Campaign Chairmen to JAIL.
It’s not a fucking “hoax”, it’s real damn serious and his repeatedly lies about it make it seem more and more that he’s been complicit with it all along.
Tomorrow Trump is going to have a private one-on-one “Summit” meeting with his handler Vladamir Putin in Helsinki without anyone else in the room except an interpreter, not staff, nobody taking notes, nobody to document what they really fucking say to each other.
It’s they might as well be having this meeting in the middle of a park with each of them on opposite facing benches, pretending their not really even having a conversation like a scene from a spy movie or show like Homeland or Scandal. It’s transparently obvious bullshit.
But Trump yet again thinks America (or most of it) will fall for it, because we’ve pretty much fallen for every smoke and mirrors slight-of-hand parlor trick he’s tried to pull so far, right?
