Russian asset Donald Trump and Fox and Friends are once again setting the day’s agenda of lies and treason, with a twist highlighted by a new theme: starting a war with Iran. But his rotting brain remains fixated on old long-debunked Fox News favorites: Crooked Hillary and Witch Hunts.
And, the old favorite, it's all President Obama's fault:
As a matter of well-known fact, Obama's FBI did indeed tell Trump's campaign once he gained the nomination. "The warning came in the form of a high-level counterintelligence briefing by senior FBI officials, the officials said." Given what we now know about how Trump's refusal to accept a briefing unless it comes in picture-book form, it's entirely possible he doesn't remember that happening.
That and war-mongering, however, failed to provide the diversion he wanted, so he started his morning with a good dose of Fox News-inspired lying.
No one found that at all, prompting real news to tweet back at him. NPR does its best: "In the FISA application, investigators cited a number of reasons other than the dossier for needing to conduct surveillance on Carter Page, who the FBI believed to be working as a foreign agent," they inform him.
It didn't work. That's because he turned on Fox and Friends and a new onslaught ensued: it was the Clinton campaign dossier, a lie cooked up to give the court something "to provide a pretext to SPY on the Trump Team" because "Carter Page wasn't a spy, wasn’t an agent of the Russians." He must have changed the channel after that, because he rounded out his Russia morning with this:
It’s going to be a rocky week.
