I weary of trying to fathom Trump and the power he has over his sycophants. I’ve certainly written many stories from my point of view as a psychotherapist as to his mental unfitness and his dangerously deteriorating psychological state. Yesterday, for example, I wrote: “A shrink musing in the morning: Trump's version of the Goldwater rule, now the Brennan rule.” I will probably write more in the future as Trump decompensates and will call Kossack's attention to articles by other psychotherapists about Trump.
Today I want to share my reaction to Trump’s latest Tweet about John Brennan.
Added to the Dali painting above, here are quotes from three great writers which I think apply to Trump and Trumpworld.
“But I don’t want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
“I cannot but conclude that the Bulk of your Natives, to be the most pernicious Race of little odious Vermin that Nature ever suffered to crawl upon the Surface of the Earth.”
― Jonathan Swift, Gulliver's Travels
“The first method for estimating the intelligence of a ruler is to look at the men he has around him.”
― Niccolò Machiavelli, The Prince
I read this Tweet and some of the comments on various websites about it and really couldn’t think of anything to add besides the Alice quote. For example, from RawStory where the title calls this a frantic personal attack: “Don the Con once again exposes himself as a weak, little, whiny crybaby who screams & hides like all teenie weenie bullies who get their hair mussed up a little bit.” Many of the rest of these comments are too profane to re-post here.
I admit it. I often write comments to articles on other websites and sites like The New York Times and The Washington Post. I find it provides some stress relief. Writing the following comment on RawStory gave me the idea for this diary.
