Americans and the Holocaust. Scary numbers.

The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany released results from one very scary survey

• Nearly one-third of all Americans (31 percent) and more than 4-in-10 Millennials (41 percent) believe that substantially less than 6 million Jews were killed (two million or fewer) during the Holocaust
• While there were over 40,000 concentration camps and ghettos in Europe during the Holocaust, almost half of Americans (45 percent) cannot name a single one – and this percentage is even higher amongst Millennials

Yea….education needs to be done. Especially since the number of those still living that have survived the camps is dwindling.

A recent survey found that 66 percent of millennials do not know what Auschwitz was.

Now I am not one to jump on the bash the Millennials bandwagon but these numbers are beyond scary. Americans have always sucked at the subject of history but this is beyond scary.
