- It was high school, everyone screws up in high school
- they were ALL drunk
- this was decades ago, he’s changed

Do NOT let Republicans (once again) goad us into the argument THEY want to have.
The point NOW is that Kavanaugh is calling a victim of his abuse a LIAR.

Brett Kavanaugh: “This is a completely false allegation. I have never done anything like what the accuser describes—to her or to anyone.
false allegation = lie
This is not merely the usual right-wing-smear-machine in action.
This is the SCOTUS candidate himself calling Christine Blasey Ford a LIAR.
TODAY
This speaks to Brett Kavanaugh’s CURRENT character. Not to who he was, or what he did 36 years ago.
Ask anyone who’s been attacked why they didn’t report it earlier, and always within the top three reasons would be, “I was afraid nobody would believe me.”
And now, Christine Blasey Ford has agreed to give testimony in the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings. Which obliterates at least one defense point: that she was making anonymous accusations.
Also, she will bring her therapist’s notes from 2012, which describe the incident, and has passed a lie-detector test. R’s can’t believably accuse her of knowing Kavanaugh would be a SCOTUS nominee in 2018, and thus having made the whole thing up: Which obliterates another defense point: that it never happened.
But the actual point is larger than all of this. The point is not as much what Kavanaugh did while drunk in high school.
The point is what he’s willing to do NOW. Call a victim of sexual violence a LIAR.
If he’s willing to do that now, as a 12-year-veteran Appeals Court Judge, then what may he be capable of doing as a SCOTUS judge?
That is the actual issue, today
