Today, probably feeling irritated by that nagging feeling his “legacy” will be marred by his abjectly treasonous handling of his responsibilities as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Chuck Grassley tried to do his pathetic and histrionic version of grandstanding. His weak-ass move was to attack Democrats for bringing up how unseemly—and (probably) illegal—the whole Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court process has been.
Grassley: We don’t care what the nominee thinks. We’ve got to follow the Presidential Records Act. That’s what we’re following, is the law.
It’s almost like Sen. Chuck Grassley figured out a way to pack two sentences with an infinity cauldron of lies and deceit. Sen. Dick Durbin didn’t let Sen. Grassley’s load of horse manure go unchecked, reminding him that the Republican Swamp Party has very specifically side-stepped the Presidential Records Act, potentially withholding 90 percent of the documents germane to a healthy Supreme Court nominee hearing.
Durbin: Mr. Chairman, with all due respect, following the Presidential Records Act involves the National Archives. The National Archives is NOT involved in this process. It is a Mr. Bill Burck who is a former assistant to the nominee, who has decided what will be withheld, what is going to be committee confidential. So it ISN’T the Presidential Records Act. Please.
I know Sen. Grassley has gotten by the last 100 years on acting like your ornery elderly relative who is a little infirm at times, but he ISN’T your elderly relative—he’s an asshole who has disgraced the United States, and continues to run interference for a political party complicit in collusion with a foreign power, with corruption throughout its ranks.
