Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) has had a hair-on-fire several days with the Supreme Court nomination hearing of Brett Kavanaugh, in which he has repeatedly referenced the fact that Kavanaugh committed perjury before the Senate Judiciary Committee years ago, when he was being vetted for his current seat on the D.C. Circuit. And here it is:
There is, of course, much more. There are at least three more emails in which Kavanaugh is discussing the Pryor nomination, including one in which he is invited to a conference "call to discuss Pryor and coordinate plans and efforts."
”No, I was not involved in handling his [Pryor’s] nomination,” Kavanaugh told Sen. Kennedy. An out-and-out lie that cannot possibly be attributed to a memory lapse.
We’re seeing that thanks to Democrats’ refusal to go along with Chairman Chuck Grassley’s unilateral and arbitrary decision to withhold reams of critical information from the public eye. Keep it up, Democrats. Keep fighting to get Kavanaugh’s entire paper trail released.
